Wish granted: Something to actually stress about. Maya rolled her eyes at Arlene, “You’re lucky he didn’t expel you,” she found herself say harshly. Normally, Maya would never speak to someone like this, but she was too bitter to care; Arlene had destroyed something important to Maya, and her sister — The garden had been something for Katie to focus on after Felix died, and for that, Maya loved it. It was something that made her sister happy, and that’s all that mattered to her. Arlene had wrecked it without a second thought, and Maya wasn’t entirely sure if she’d be able to forgive her for that. “Then why are you here?” She asked, raising an eyebrow at the younger girl. “Sure.” Maya pursed her lips into a thin line, hardly believing her.

Arlene fought the urge to sass the other girl back, knowing that that was not the way to go about things if she was expecting her to hear her side of things. Besides, she didn’t want anymore trouble with anyone for a long time. She was trying hard to avoid confrontation. Her therapist had advised her to try to get over that, since that was Arlene’s biggest issue, or so it seemed. “I know.” She replied instead, not missing a beat. “I wanted to know if you would be willing to hear me out.” She said this slowly, stepping up the steps to sit next to Maya. She stayed a close distance away, but not too far. “I don’t deserve it, but – but, well, I just – a lot has happened since that, and I’m just… please?”
