Maya listened intently as Arlene spoke, pursing her lips. She wanted to be upset about the garden, but after hearing what Arlene had to say, she couldn’t — The other girl couldn’t help what was going on, and while the garden wasn’t something they could change now, but it was something they could move forward from. Conduct Disorder. Maya had never heard the term before, but nodded as Arlene explained it to her. Her mouth formed a small ‘o’, unsure of what to say. “Conduct Disorder…” she mumbled, looking down at her lap, trying to figure out something to say. “Are you — treating it?” Maya asked slowly, looking back at the other girl.

“Yes. My mom is getting things set up so that I can talk to a therapist or someone whenever I get jumpy or anxious or something. I don’t want to fight or trash anything again, not for a long time if ever again.” Arlene said honestly, holding eye contact with the blonde. “I’m willing to help fix the garden too, but only if Katie wants me too. And I know that this doesn’t excuse my actions, but I really am sorry.”
